Hermana Libby White has been called to serve as a representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Ecuador, Quito mission. She will be serving the people of Ecuador for 18 months.
Well this week has just been Awesome!! I had divisions with the hermana Leaders and so I left my area for the day and went there to work. I was pretty awesome! We ate Ice cream and taught a really old women about the restauration.
Then Wednesday we had a worlwide missionary conference and we also had interviews with President. I think the interviews are one of my favorite things here! He asked us to study 2Nephi 11, 31 and 3Nephi 11. Those are awesome chapters and it was just so amazing to talk with president about what I learned and learn even more from talking with him. And I think for the worldwide conference the missionary schedule changed…but I’m not sure.
Also this week like almost all of our appointments fell like every day! It was pretty funny/annoying. So we did a lot of contacting! The good news is that we found some new people to teach! So a tender mercy from the Lord right there!
Also this week I’m pretty sure that I found my new favorite scripture. Alma 38:5, i’s pretty awesome!
Then today for P-day the Elders in my ward and us went to a members house and learned how to cook a type of really delicious soup. It’s called encebolado (probably spelled that wrong) and its has fish and some other stuff that I can’t remember the name of but it was really awesome!
So this week has been a little crazy! But not really actually! I am in a new area with a new companion and it is just awesome! My new Companion is Hermana Echegaray and she is from Peru from somewhere on the coast. And I am the only Gringa in my whole district! I think I might just learn spanish this change!
But being in a new sector is really awesome! My new sector is so tiny! I can walk around my whole sector in less then 30 minutes! This is really different from my old one where I could go in a bus for 2 hours and still be in my sector! But I really like a smaller area. And that I can talk in Spanish all day everyday! It’s pretty cool to think about actually!
One really good thing that happened this week is that two of my investigators, Marilim and Anai have a baptisimal date! They are going to be baptized the 18 of February! It’s really exiting!
And today for P-day all of the Hermanas went and played soccer and ate pizza! It was a ton of fun! But I don’t understand how I can walk all day every day and still be so out of shape! Running for like 5 minutes killed me!
This week was a really super normal week for me!! (Well kind of) Which was realy awesome cause it’s like the first one that my companion and I have ever had!! There were only 4 exciting or not normal things that happened this week.
Our Thursday meeting with the whole zone was moved to Saturday and then my companion and I couldn’t even go!
I ate the most disgusting and weirdest thing on Tuessday. I ate this food called watita which means cow stomach. It was awful I literally never want to eat it again! It made my stomach upset all week long!
Because of the Watita that I ate I was really sick on saturday and didn’t leave thee house. Which is why we didn’t go to the wekly zone meeting.
This is the best thing that happened! One of our investigators is going to get baptized!! It’s really exciting cause he hasn’t wanted to for months but he now has a date for March 3!! I’m so happy for him!!
And Sunday there were cambios! My companion is going to stay in Latacunga and train again! I’m so happy for her cause she loves training! And I am going to stay in the same zone and go to Ambato which is about an hour away! I’m super excited to still be in the same zone as my trainer/mom!!
But that is this week!! I hope this next week is good and I will let you all know about my new sector next week!

This week was just the best week ever!! My companion and I decided to fast this week on Tuesday in order to find new people to teach. It was seriously the best thing ever!! This past week we found 6 new people to teach!! And all of them are really awesome!! And on the other people that we are teaching right now who`s name is Victor is realy really close to being baptized! It is really awesome cause for the past couple of times that we have visited him, he is just like I need more time to sort out my doubts and stuff, but this time he was like I think that I am almost ready!! It is really cool to see the change in him and his family in just the time that I have been here working with him!!
Also, other exciting news is that we had emergency changes! One of the Elders in my district left and went to Santo Domingo( the coast) and a new Elder came to Latacunga! It was a pretty exciting day trying to figure out all that was going on and stuff!
Then today for P-day we went bowling!! It was so fun to hang out as a zone and go bowling!! It was literally the funnest thing ever!!
This week will also be really exciting cause it is the last week of the change and after this week I will be out of my training!! I`m really excited to be a normal missionary at last!!
Happy New Years Everyone!! This week was just crazy here! So Christmas wasn't really anything special, but New Years Eve is just crazy!! People were getting ready for it all week long!! We had almost no visits this week cause so many people went out of town!! But it´s all good! It was really cool to see the different traditions that they have here. One of them is that they buy a creepy little doll and burn it at midnight! I like the sound of the idea but I would never do that! Mostly because the dolls are just to creepy for me to handle! But it was funny cause Sunday morning we walked to the church and counted the piles of ash that were left over for the night before! I think that we were up tp 30 before we got to the church!
Feliz Año! Then today for p-day we went to a tourist town called Baños! It it like an Ecuadorian versian of Moab! It´s really pretty cool! But we went there to go see a really cool waterfall called Pylon del Diablo. I would definetly look up a video or pictures of this waterfall cause it is so cool!! But we went and we actually hiked underneath the waterfall and got soaked and went up and touched the waterfall!! It was so cool!!!

I hope everyone´s Christmas was really awesome! My companion and I spent almost the entire week making cookies to give to pretty much all of the people we visited which was really nice to do something normalish for Christmas! We also went caroling on Thursday night!! I think that was my favorite part of Christmas week! Then Christmas morning was awesome! Between the two of us, m companion and I got a ton of socks and a ton of peppermints! It was awesome! Then I love Christmas Sunday! The best part of course was the phone call home on Sunday!! It was so nice to be able to talk with my family! It was nice to hear from them and everything, but I think almost harder to say good bye again!
Anyway, hope everyone had a good Christmas and will have a happy New Year!!
I seriously can not believe that Christmas is this week!! It`s only a week away!!
This week was just full of Christmas stuff and I almost got a concussion…maybe!
So Tuesday we were preparing to leave to go to Quito for our Christmas Dinner with the President. We were just walking home from lunch and my companion was calling someone and I kinda was looking down at the ground so I wound’t trip and fall and break something when I ran into a sign!! It was this triangular sign and I hit my head on the corner of it. SO my companion started freaking out cause I started bleeding and then the Enfermeras wouldn’t answer or the Elders and She faints at the sight of blood and I wasn’t feeling good so she called the Bishop cause he’s a doctor and we took a taxi over there so he could tell me if I needed to get stiches or do something else. But he said that the cut was fine and to just go home and rest. So we didn’t do anything on Tuesday cause I slept all day. And then after two or three days I was fine. SO it’s all good! Just something really exciting that always happenes to us!
The Christmas dinner was the best!! We had a little conference before and I had to give a talk about the Atonement. It was half ENglish and half Spanish so I hope that people understood it! But President talked about the word evangelio which in Spanish means gospel. And the root of the word means good news. ANd apperently in a lot of other languages the word for gospel is almost the same. So I thought that was interseting! But the food was the best part of the conferenece. There was mashed potatoes!!! I haven`t had those in like months!! It was literally the most delishes thing I ahd ever eaten! And the rolls that Hna Christensen made were the same that my mom makes for Thanksgiving!! I was really happy with the food! The games were pretty awesome to! Just some Christmas trivia games. Then after they gave us presents which was a keychaing and a bar of chocalte we went home!

The other awesome thing that happened this week is that Hna Barraclough and I both got Christmas packages!! They were literally blessings from heaven! Cuase Hna Barraclough had been waiting for 5 months and we were both feeling a little homesick about not being home for Christmas. But we have stuff to celebrate the Holidays!! And we are both so Thankful for them!!

And I forgot to say that We had another baptsims this week!! It was this little 13 year old girl who can’t walk. But she is litterally the most awesome person I have ever met in my life!! She goes to church ever Sunday even though it is really hard and she loves everything! Her mom is a less active and can’t read but Marissa reads the Book of Mormon to her every day!! She is so awesome I love her!!
